The contribution of entrepreneurship to local development : Essay of an exploratory study

Abstract

As part of an interpretative epistemological posture, the objective of our paper is to propose an analytical framework of the relationship between entrepreneurship and local development based on an exploratory study preceded by a literature review. Framed by an interview guide, 25 semi-structured interviews were conducted with local actors in the city of El-Houceima. The results confirm a definite contribution of entrepreneurship to development. The role of entrepreneurship goes beyond individual business creation and extends to the ability to build a common resource, inducing the process of local development.
