Abstract
This article proposes a conceptual model of the mediating role of responsible marketing between CSR engagement and global performance in Moroccan companies holding the CGEM CSR Label. Based on a critical, narrative, and conceptual review of 64 sources, complemented by a prior bibliometric analysis of 288 articles, the study combines stakeholder theory, legitimacy theory, the Resource-Based View, and institutional theory. The synthesis suggests that CSR does not automatically translate into performance; this relationship may depend on authentic, consistent, and verifiable marketing practices that strengthen legitimacy, perceived value, and stakeholder trust. The model distinguishes direct effects, the mediation of responsible marketing, and organizational and institutional conditions that may strengthen or weaken these relationships. In the Moroccan context, it highlights the role of the CGEM CSR Label, governance quality, and strategic alignment while incorporating greenwashing risk. The framework provides a theoretical basis for subsequent empirical validation.
